About
Dr Tai Friesem is a globally recognized specialist in the field of spinal surgery and holds the Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery at Soroka University Hospital in Be’er Sheva.
He has accumulated extensive experience in spinal surgery of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, both open and minimally invasive.
After spending almost 20 years as the head of the Spinal Unit and Orthopaedic Surgery at the University Hospital of North Tees in the UK, Dr Friesem returned to Israel in 2019.
He specialises in treatments of the degenerative spine and dynamic stabilisation to preserve as much movement of the spine as possible and improving the patient's quality of life.
Dr Friesem has been invited to teach and lecture at numerous courses and conferences worldwide as well as publishing and presenting many papers in the field of spinal surgery and research.
As a result of this breadth of experience, his philosophy for the treatment of patients with spinal problems takes a more conservative stance, aiming to avoid surgery wherever possible.
